The test took place on Monday, September 14, 2026, shortly after the Spanish Grand Prix. Norris completed 38 laps, covering approximately 177 miles, during the session. Alongside McLaren’s 2027 WEC drivers Mikkel Jensen and Laurens Vanthoor, he evaluated various development parts and provided feedback informed by his experience in Formula 1®. This was Norris’s first extended run in the MCL-HY, having previously driven the car briefly at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2026.
McLaren Racing is preparing to make its WEC Hypercar debut in 2027, with the Le Mans 24 Hours scheduled for June 12-13, 2027.
