Starting from 19th on the grid due to a power unit penalty, Antonelli’s drive to victory marked a significant moment as he became the first Italian to win at Monza in six decades.
The Power Rankings panel also highlighted other notable performances from the weekend. Pierre Gasly secured his first Formula 1® pole position with Alpine, leading both Q1 and Q3, although he finished seventh in the race. Max Verstappen moved up from fifth to second early on, led for three laps, and completed the race in third place, marking his third podium in four events.
George Russell, who started second and briefly led the race, finished as runner-up behind Antonelli, which affected his standing in the championship battle. Meanwhile, Arvid Lindblad continued his consistent form by finishing eighth for Racing Bulls, helping maintain his team’s lead over Alpine in the standings.
Oscar Piastri recovered well from a three-place grid penalty to finish fourth after battling with Lewis Hamilton and teammate Lando Norris. Norris himself qualified eighth and finished fifth following a strong recovery and intra-team competition. Gabriel Bortoleto narrowly missed out on Q3 by just 0.001 seconds but started in the top ten due to Antonelli’s penalty, finishing just outside the points.
Yuki Tsunoda scored tenth after climbing from fifteenth, marking a positive return to Racing Bulls. Carlos Sainz finished thirteenth for Williams, outperforming some rivals despite the team’s expected challenges at Monza. Franco Colapinto and Ollie Bearman were close to the top ten in the Power Rankings, with Colapinto running as high as third during the race before an off-track moment affected his final position.
