Alpine has confirmed Franco Colapinto will continue with the team for the 2027 Formula 1® season following his progress during 2026. Colapinto made his Formula 1® debut with Williams in late 2024 before moving to Alpine as a reserve driver the following year. He replaced Jack Doohan early in 2026, winning the race seat over reserve Paul Aron. Although his start to the season was challenging, Colapinto managed to score points in six of the first twelve Grands Prix, with his best finish being sixth place in Montreal. The team is preparing to rebrand as Gucci Racing Alpine Formula One Team in 2027 and aims to improve its position in the Teams’ Championship, targeting fifth place in 2026.
