Alpine has confirmed that Franco Colapinto will continue alongside Pierre Gasly as part of their driver line-up for the 2027 Formula 1® season. This announcement, made in August 2026 ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, secures the team’s current pairing for another year.
Colapinto’s journey with Alpine began in 2025 as a reserve driver before stepping up mid-season to replace Jack Doohan. He retained his race seat into 2026 and has since contributed 19 points across six Grands Prix, helping Alpine maintain sixth place in the Teams' Championship. Meanwhile, Gasly’s contract was extended last year, keeping him with the team until at least the end of 2028.
The team’s Executive Advisor, Flavio Briatore, highlighted the value of stability in the driver roster. He praised Colapinto’s development and notable performances, particularly at the Miami and Montreal Grands Prix, emphasizing the importance of consistency as Alpine looks to build on its progress.
