Formula 1® has unveiled its race calendar for the 2027 season, marking a notable expansion of the sprint race format to ten events. Among the new additions is Monaco, which will host a sprint race for the first time despite the challenges posed by its narrow street circuit.
The 2027 season is set to feature 24 races across five continents, beginning on March 14 with the Bahrain Grand Prix. The calendar will conclude in December with back-to-back events in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Alongside Monaco, the sprint race schedule will now include Bahrain, Australia, Japan, and Abu Dhabi, increasing from six to ten sprint weekends.
This expansion means that Monaco will introduce two qualifying sessions on Friday and Saturday to accommodate the sprint format. The calendar also sees the return of Portugal and Turkey, with the Portuguese Grand Prix at Algarve scheduled for June 20. The season opener in Bahrain will be followed by the Saudi Arabian and Australian Grands Prix, while the calendar features triple-header sequences in both Europe and the Americas. Pre-season testing is planned as a single four-day session in Bahrain from February 24 to 27.

The 2027 schedule remains subject to FIA circuit homologation for some venues, including Turkey, ensuring that all tracks meet the required standards for Formula 1® competition.
