The 2026 Spanish Grand Prix at the Madring delivered memorable moments both on and off the track, blending racing action with cultural highlights that resonated with fans and participants alike. Kimi Antonelli secured victory in the inaugural event, capitalizing on Virtual Safety Car (VSC) timing to overtake Lando Norris. Max Verstappen followed closely in second place after a VSC-assisted pit stop, while Charles Leclerc led for over 30 laps before finishing fourth.

The weekend featured a diverse lineup of teams including Mercedes, McLaren, Red Bull Racing, Ferrari, Williams, Aston Martin, and Alpine. Notable drivers such as Carlos Sainz, who retired his Williams, and Fernando Alonso, finishing 17th for Aston Martin, added to the competitive narrative. Alpine’s Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto also made appearances, alongside Lewis Hamilton representing Ferrari, and seasoned racers Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas.

Beyond the race, the event embraced local culture and unique activities. Red Bull Racing showcased their 2012 RB8 car navigating Madrid’s rail tunnels on special wheels as part of the “On Rails” project, a striking display of motorsport heritage meeting urban landscape. Williams paid tribute to their 1981 championship-winning FW07C with a special livery and race suits, connecting past and present in a nod to their history.
